The start of the season was the most important time of the year for us. Here is what we built and improved in the first weeks of games.

Score and shootouts

Match phases can now be marked as a shootout. Goals in it are counted separately, and the winner gets exactly one goal at the end – 2:2 becomes 3:2 after shootout. Both editor views show the shootout score, templates can display it and push messages include it.

Push notifications

  • Manual push: free title and text, for example when the start is delayed.
  • Goal pushes open with the scorer and their jersey number.
  • Fans can opt in and out of general notices separately.
  • Pushes now also appear while the ticker is open.

Emoji reactions

  • New fire emoji; thumbs up replaces the angry face.
  • Fans can use every emoji as often as they like.
  • Per entry, choose whether reactions appear on opponent events.
  • Reactions can be reset from the timeline.
  • In the archive, reactions stay visible but no new ones are added.

In the editor

  • Insert players into texts via @mention.
  • Enter players by jersey number, with a confirmation when it matches the roster.
  • Jersey number and position in the roster are optional.
  • A second, more compact editor view, switchable with the classic one.

Archive, search and social media

Match pages are fully rendered on the server, which makes them faster and easier for search engines to read. Title and description follow the match phase, and structured data describes the game as a sports event.
  • Readable archive URLs with season, teams and date instead of technical IDs; old links redirect.
  • Social media preview images with score, team logos and your club colours.
  • Google Search Console verification right in the admin.
  • The page language follows the club’s configured language.

Domains and operations

  • Custom domains are set up as a subdomain, such as liveticker.your-club.com.
  • Additional domains redirect automatically to your default domain.
  • The live ticker loads faster: content is pre-rendered and served via a CDN.
